Infant To Teens, That Could Take The Weather. 

Would Last A Long Time.

A Full Line Was Marketed Through Out The States.

The Characters Were Based On Birds. 

In The 1940's It Was Changed To Human Styled Topical 

A Little History 

Illustrations Appeared In 1902  To Promote Shoes

For Children.

A Company Brand Starting In 1892. 

The  Illustrations Were Copyrighted On Printed Matter.

In 1901 Peters Shoe Co In St. Louis, 

When The Shoes Went National.

 Began Selling Weather-Bird Shoes.  

Through Out United States.  

Promoting The Line Was Dropped In The 1950's.

The Claim The News Paper Created The Weather Bird Character

Before The Shoe Manufacture Are Very False.

Made Up In In The 1980's And 1990's. 

History Shows The Shoe Label Is 

Before The Comic Pieces Not Really A Strip.  

Which Was Originally called "Dickey Bird" 

From The Line "The Weather Is For The Birds"

('dicky-bird' is a generic slang term for any small bird)
