Mark Fisher 's Image - Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren - Killer Image

Mark Fisher American Photographer

Image Captured In New York City

Late Afternoon Shoot

The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren

is an Anglo-German hypercar jointly developed by Mercedes-Benz and McLaren Automotive,

built in Portsmouth and the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey, England.

Due to the presence of the automatic gear box, front mid-engined arrangement,

and its driving characteristics, some commentators classify

the SLR McLaren as a GT whose rivals would be vehicles like the Aston Martin DBS

V12 andFerrari 599 GTB Fiorano.

SLR stands for "Sport, Leicht, Rennsport" (sport, light, racing).

The car's base price Was GB£295,337(approx.US$450,000 or €351,269 , c. 2009)

The Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren was inspired by the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR of 1955,

based on the W196 F1 car, yet named after the road-going 300SL Gullwing.

Unlike most of its contemporaries,

its engine is front-mid mounted.

McLaren took the original concept car designed by Mercedes

and moved the engine 1 metre (39.4 in) behind the front bumper,

and around 50 centimetres (19.7 in) behind the front axle.

They also optimized the design of the center firewall.

On 4 April 2008, Mercedes announced they would cease production of the SLR.

The last of the coupes rolled off the production line at the end of 2007

and the roadster version was discontinued in early 2009.

The SLR sports a 232 kg (510 lb) hand-built 5,439 cc (5.439 L; 331.9 cu in),

supercharged, all-aluminium, SOHC V8 engine.

The cylinders are angled at 90 degrees with three valves per cylinder

and lubricated via a dry sump system.

The compression ratio is 8.8:1 and the bore

and stroke is 97 millimetre (3.82 in) and 92 millimeters (3.62 in),
respectively.

The Lysholm-type twin-screw supercharger rotates

at 23000 revolutions per minute and produces 0.9 bar (13 psi) of boost.

The compressed air is then cooled via two intercoolers.

The engine generates a maximum power of 626 PS (460 kW; 617 hp)@6500rpm

and maximum torque of 780 N·m (580 lb·ft)@3250-5000rpm

60 mph (97 km/h) from a standstill in 3.5 seconds.

The 0 - 100 mph (160 km/h) sprint was achieved in 7.5 seconds

and a quarter mile run was completed in 11.5 seconds at 126 mph (203 km/h).

Here Is Some More Info...

The Fiat 1100D

Retaining the exterior changes of this model, in 1962 Fiat introduced the 3rd generation 1100, called the 1100D. "D" stood for Delight. It was a sober yet comfortable 4-door sedan, very similar to the Granluce but with simpler sides and a new simpler rectangular mouth. The 1100D was a successful Italian Standard in the early sixties and along with its own Estate or Family car version and a Deluxe Model that offered a higher performance with 50 hp, extra side mouldings, front bench seat with two reclining backs and carpet floor mats. These survived without any substantial alteration until 1966, when the introduction of the groundbreaking 124 model imposed a further change in styling.

Ford GT In The New York Streets - Mark Fisher's Image

2005 Ford GT

In New York City

Mark Fisher American Photographer

Captured On The Streets

Of New York City

Here Is Some History

The Ford GT began as a concept car designed in anticipation of the automaker's centennial year and as part of its drive to showcase and revive its "heritage" names such as Mustang and Thunderbird. At the 1995 Detroit Auto Show, the Ford GT90 concept was shown. At the 2002 auto show, Ford unveiled a new GT40 Concept car.
The production cars do not wear the GT40 badge. Early cars from the 1960s were also simply named "Ford GT".

The GT was produced in model years 2005 and 2006.

August 2004 - The GT began assembly at Mayflower Vehicle Systems in Norwalk, Ohio and was painted by Saleen in their Saleen Special Vehicles facility in Troy, Michigan. The GT is powered by an engine built at Ford's Romeo Engine Plant in Romeo, Michigan. Installation of the engine and manual transmission along with interior finishing was handled in the SVT building at Ford's Wixom, Michigan plant.

Performance and engineering

The Ford GT features many new and unique technologies, including superplastic-formed aluminum body panels, roll-bonded floor panels, afriction-stir welded center tunnel, a "ship-in-a-bottle" gas tank, a capless fuel filler system, one-piece door panels, and an aluminum engine cover with a one-piece carbon-fiber inner panel.
Brakes are four-piston aluminum Brembo calipers with cross-drilled and vented rotors at all four corners. When the rear canopy is opened, the rear suspension components and engine are visible.
The mid-mounted 5.4 L Modular V8 engine is all-aluminum with a Lysholm twin screw-type supercharger. It features a forged rotating assembly housed in an aluminum block designed specifically for the GT program. A dry sump oiling system is employed, allowing the engine to sit low in the car's frame. The DOHC 4-valve heads are a revision of the 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R cylinder heads (with slightly increased wall casting thickness in the exhaust port). The camshafts have unique specifications, with more lift and duration than those found in the Shelby GT500 or 2003–2004 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra. Power output is 550 hp (410 kW) and 500 ft·lbf (680 N·m) of torque. A Ricardo six-speed manual transmission is fitted featuring a helical limited-slip differential.
Performance
0–60 mph (0–96 km/h): 3.3 seconds, 3.6 seconds, 3.7 seconds
0–100 mph (0–160 km/h): 7.4 seconds
0-150 mph (0–241 km/h): 16.9 seconds
Standing 1/4 mile (402 m): 11.2 seconds @ 131.2 mph (211.1 km/h), 11.6 seconds @ 126.2 mph (203.1 km/h), 11.78 seconds @ 124.31 mph (200.06 km/h)
Top speed: 205 mph (330 km/h) (electronically limited)
Fuel consumption
The United States Environmental Protection Agency mileage estimate for the GT is 12 mpg-US (20 L/100 km; 14 mpg-imp) in city driving, and 19 mpg-US (12 L/100 km; 23 mpg-imp) in highway cruising, for a combined 14 mpg-US (17 L/100 km; 17 mpg-imp).
